Emirates is the national airline of Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. It is the largest airline in the Middle East, and operates over 2400 flights per week. The airline is wholly owned by Dubai's government. 

Emirates  ranks amongst the top 10 carriers worldwide in terms of revenue and passenger kilometers, and in 2010, Emirates was the 6th largest airline in the world in terms of teh number of passengers carried.

Emirates is a leader in the aviation industry, and is known for the luxury it offers to passengers and its excellent in-flight meals.

In February 2011, Air Transport World awarded Emirates the title of Airline of the Year for 2011. The award was given based on recognition of its commitment to safety, operational excellence and customer service.
